Saints DOMINATE New York Giants @ the SuperDome 49 to 24!!

The New Orleans Saints ROCK da DOME primetime on Monday Night Football against the New York Giants!  Drew Brees sets records, offense dominates, and defense produced turnovers!  Saints proved they are an elite team in the NFL and brought back memories from the 2009 championship season with this outstanding game.  The Saint’s momentum all started with an interception from Will Hering who took the ball away from Giants receiver while in midair who was in the Giant’s endzone.  Drew Brees scored five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) in a 24-of-38, 363-yard, turnover-free effort against the Giants. The only thing Drew Brees could not do was slam dunk the football like Michael Jordan over the goal posts after he ran in dove into the end zone for a touchdown.  Lance Moore caught two touchdown passes in the 2nd  followed by some fun dance celebrations.  Jimmy Graham had two touchdowns including the 29 yarder that gave the Saints 35 – 10 lead in the third quarter.  Darren Sproles, Mark Ingram, and Pierre Thomas had a combined 205 rushing yards with two touchdowns by Ingram and Thomas.  Marques Colston had a crucial 50 yards catch that led the Saints to a touchdown right before halftime.  Defense played well but will have to keep improving if they want to win playoff/championship games against good offensive teams.  Saints move to a record of (8-3) and stay on top of the NFC South Division.  Saints also stay undefeated at home in the Superdome.

MOST CRITICS SAY: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS ARE THE TOP CONTENDORS TO THE UNDEFEATED GREEN BAY PACKERS!

The Saints take on the Detroit Lions next Sunday Night at the Superdome, PRIMETIME!  If the season ended today the Saints are the 3rd seed in the NFC playoff Division with Green Bay as the 1st seed and San Francisco as the 2nd seed.

My Prediction:  New Orleans Saints vs Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game…

SAINTS WIN in overtime against Atlanta

The Saints beat Atlanta at the Georgia Dome in a dramatic overtime win 26-23!  After stopping the Falcons on a crucial 4th down and inches, Saints Kicker John Kasay made a field goal to untie the game and win in overtime!  This game was an intense close scoring game all the way to the end.  It was the kind of the game that made you sweat it out until the winning field goal in overtime.  It was very similar to the game last year when Atlanta scored the winning field in over time after Saint’s kicker Garrett Hartley missed.

On offense, Saint’s pass protection did a great job because Brees was not sacked once.  Marques Colston had a physical game, averaging 14.1 yards per catch while taking viscous hits.  Jimmy Graham had a rough start dropping two catches costing the Saints possible first downs.  However, Graham came back catching for a total of 82 yards and a 21-yard touchdown that gave the Saints the lead 10-6 in the second quarter.  Robert Meachem also had a clutch catch for a touchdown in the third quarter.

On defense,  Roman Harper showed up ready to play with an impressive game.  According to league sources, Harper was named NFC defensive player of the week.  He  was credited with 16 tackles, two altered passes, one sack, one pass defended and two tackles for losses.   It’s a good things Harper had a good game and showed his worth because last August, the Saints re-signed Harper to a 4-year, $28 million contract.  Scott Shanle had an interception that bounced off of Atlanta’s wide receiver Roddy White.  Malcom Jenkins busted threw Atlanta’s offensive line stop running back Micheal Turner for a huge stop on 4th down an inches.  Atlanta made a controversial call to go for it on 4th and inches and was stopped by the Saints defense which led the offense to scoring a field goal to win it in overtime!

Saints have won 9 of their past 11 games against Atlanta and the past four have been decided by a field goal.  Saints move to a record of 7-3 and hold their spot as 1 in the NFC South Division.  Atlanta moves to a record of 5-4 and are 2nd in the NFC South Division.   Next Week, Saints have a bye then come back the following week for a Monday night game against New York Giants in the Dome!  Waiting over two weeks to see the Saints again is going to tough for the WHO DAT NATION, but when we come back for the Monday night game the DOME is going to be rocking!

Saints Bounce Back! Defeat Bucs 27 to 16!

Saints bounce back from an upsetting loss against the Rams with an exciting payback win in the Superdome against the Bucs 27- 16.  In a previous post  I predicted that the Saints would win by more than 10 points against the Bucs, and I was glad to see that come true!  With this win the Saints maintained the lead in the NFC South Division with a record of 6-3.  The Saints seem to have had that swagger in this defeat against Bucs in the Superdome(must have something to do with the Throwback jerseys) and kept the streak of winning every home game.   According to NFL.com, several Saints players applauded coach Sean Payton’s decision to distribute baseball bats as motivational props leading up to the game, a now recurring ritual Payton reserves for times when he wants to challenge his team to play with a stronger physical presence.   I could feel the motivation and attitude of the Saint’s players through my tv!  Drew Brees threw for 258 passing yards and the offense gained 195 yards on the ground unlike last week against the Rams only gaining 56 yards.  Defense played well and pressured Buc’s quarterback Josh Freeman only allowing 1 touchdown and 3 field goals even with some bad Ref calls.  Starting cornerback, Tracy Porter, left the game early with a neck injury.  As of today, Coach Payton said all news on Porter is positive but he is dealing with neck and chest soreness.  Saints’ offense had a great performance with Lance Moore, Darren Sproles, and Pierre Thomas each scoring a touchdown.  Tampa Bay dropped down to third place in the NFC South Division with the loss to the Saints.  The Saints remain a half game ahead of the Atlanta Falcons who are 5 – 3.  Saints visit Atlanta next Sunday in another crucial game and NFC South showdown.  I’m confident that the Saints will go to the Georgia Dome ready to play and kill some dirty birds! WHO DAT!!

Someone who was watching the game on television posted this on the site. As the announcers are setting the scene for the big game in with a beauty shot of the Saint Louis Cathedral, all of a sudden, something zips by in the sky, right to left.

The viewer actually goes back and looks at the the object in the sky in slow motion.

You can see the object has lots of lights, but it kind of looks like a fighter jet. You be the judge.

REVENGE against the BUCS!

After losing to the Rams last week and losing to the Bucs 2 games ago… its time for the Who Dat Nation to rise and support our Saints with a big comeback against the Tampa Bay Bucs.  Tampa travels to New Orleans to play the saints in da DOME this Sunday! The WHO DAT’s HOME! Last time we played the Bucs we lost our coach on the sideline with a broken leg/torn ligament.  We also lost that game 20 – 26!  The Bucs are right behind the Saints at the top of the NFC South Division and the Saints can not afford to lose any games if they want to make to the playoffs.  The Bucs are coming off a bye week, well rested, looking to eat away at the Saints’ confidence that was lowered by a loss to the Rams.  However, I think the Saints are going to play angry with attitude, the kind that brings swagger and big plays.  Come Sunday, the Saints will be ready in their own house to get revenge on the Bucs and to shut the mouths of everyone who is talking smack over the loss to the Rams.  My prediction this Sunday against the Bucs is 31 – 17, Saints win by more than 10 points! Get pumped up WHO DAT NATION it’s time for the Saints to bring it!!  WHO DAT!!!!

SAINTS BEATEN BY (0 – 6) RAMS!

Saints lose to Rams 31 – 21 in a huge upset. Before winning the game today the Rams were  win less in 6 of their previous games.  However the Saints were not doing too bad with 5 wins and 2 loses and a huge blowout game against the Colts last week scoring 62 points.  It doesn’t make sense for the Saints to come off a win like that against the Colts and lose to the Rams who haven’t won a game before this. Saints could not stop themselves from scoring last week, but in this game they did not score any points in the first half.  Seems like you never know with the Saints, you can not predict how the game will go and if they will win or lose.  Saints were expected to win this one but it doesn’t matter what another team’s record is because they are all professional football players.  Rams running back Steven Jackson plowed through the Saints defense with 159 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Rams overall played better on defense and on offense than the Saints.  I still have my faith in the Saints because they are a really good team but they can shock their fans from time to time.  Saints fall to record of 5 – 3 but are still on top of the NFC South Division. Next Sunday, the Saints play Tampa Bay at the Superdome.

#1 Tight End in the NFL!!

At 6-6 and 260 lbs, Jimmy Graham seems to be currently the best Tight End in the league!  The stats are there to prove it.  Jimmy Graham had an impressive rookie start last year for the Saints and has only gotten better starting in his second year. He has become a hot target for quarterback Drew Brees and averages 15 yards per catch. Graham had a tough child hood, at age 11 he was placed in a group home where he was bullied and physically beaten.   A church youth counselor took him in, improved his grades, and straightened him out to become a basketball star for his high school and earning a basketball scholarship to University of Miami.    Graham played basketball from 2005 to 2009 at the University of Miami and graduated with a double major in marketing and management.  After graduating, Graham stayed at Miami to take some graduate classes and played a season of football.  Turns out as good as he was playing basketball, he was a great football player at the tight end position scoring 5 touchdowns.  Drafted by the New Orleans saints in 2010 with the help of former tight end Jeremy Shockey, Graham has made his mark as an elite all pro football player.  Jimmy Graham turned out to be a great grab by New Orleans and his future is looking like a “hall of fame” kind of player.  Graham at age 24 is a tough, strong, hard to tackle,  outstanding football player and I hope to have him as a Saint for a long time.
